Richard W. Collins Maryland Department of the Environment Waste Management Administration 2500 Broening Highway Baltimore, MD 21224 Dear Mr. Collins, An injustice is being inflected upon my hometown. Wilsontown is a small, majority African American community and the proposed location for the Chesapeake Terrace Rubble Landfill. Many of the residents have lived here for many generations and have enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the country setting. Our community should not be targeted for unwanted development simply because we are a minority. Historically landfills are placed near minority communities; areas that are small in population and do not pay enough tax dollars for our politicians to notice. Our community is not going to sit back and accept this form of discrimination. We want to fight this rubble landfill and would appreciate any help you could offer. Sincerely, cc: Governor Parris N. Glendening Senator Robert R. Neall Delegate Robert C. Baldwin Delegate Janet Greenip Delegate David G. Boschert County Executive Janet S. Owens County Councilman William D.
